Does this sound familiar?

Your webshop is active, but you cannot always see where sales are being lost

  • Visitors arrive, but too few continue towards purchase.
  • You open Analytics without knowing which numbers deserve attention.
  • You improve pages but cannot clearly tell whether the change helped.
  • Product, category and checkout decisions are still based too much on instinct.

What changes

Learn to turn webshop questions into practical decisions

  • Know where to investigate when conversion is disappointing.
  • Improve product pages with the customer question in mind.
  • Use analytics to support decisions instead of simply reporting numbers.
  • Connect acquisition, conversion and retention more clearly.
  • Present your recommendations as a professional e-commerce case.

What you learn

Follow the customer journey from first click to repeat purchase

Each part of the course connects to the same question: what helps a visitor move forward, and how can you tell whether your solution works?

Who the course is for

Learn with your own webshop, your work or a realistic case

You do not need to arrive as an e-commerce specialist. The important thing is that you want to understand how online sales work and are willing to use data to improve your decisions.

  • Webshop owners who want more control over conversion and customer behaviour
  • Marketing and communications professionals who want to specialise in e-commerce
  • Career changers looking for a practical digital direction
  • Content and digital professionals who want to connect their work more clearly to commercial results

Frequently asked questions

Useful things to know before you decide

How much time should I allow each week?

There is one two-hour evening class, plus three to five hours for independent study and assignments. Because classes take place in the evening, the six-month course is designed to fit alongside work.

Do I need to own a webshop already?

No. If you have one, you can use it for your assignments and observe the results directly. If you do not, we will provide a realistic case study with genuine data, so you can participate fully.

Will I receive a diploma?

Yes. You earn a diploma by completing the comprehensive examination and portfolio presentation. If you decide not to take the exam, you will receive a certificate of participation.

Which tools will I work with?

You will use tools including Google Analytics and Looker Studio, SEO software, a webshop platform of your choice and AI workflows for writing and analysis.

Can I take the entire course online?

Yes. Every class is taught live via Zoom. The course is also available in English.

Could UWV fund this course?

This course is included in our UWV training provision. Your employment adviser or occupational expert will decide whether funding applies in your situation. We provide the programme, study load, start dates and evidence of employment prospects, helping you submit a complete application. You can learn more at Funding through UWV.

Ready to help your webshop perform more effectively?

Whether you want to improve your own online store or prepare for a new career in e-commerce, you do not need to have every detail worked out before you begin. Enrol directly, or start with a no-obligation advisory call to discuss what would suit you.

Examination and portfolio

Finish with a case that shows how you think

The course concludes with an assessment and a presentation of your portfolio. Pass the assessment and you receive an Art and the City diploma. Without the examination, you receive a certificate of participation.

Your final case centres on a webshop you have analysed, the changes you recommend and the results you can measure. It becomes substantial work you can add to your professional portfolio.
