Diploma course

E-commerce Marketer Course

Understand how webshops convert — and what stops visitors from becoming customers.

Over six months, you will learn how to make an online store perform more effectively. You will work on product pages, category structures, conversion optimisation, email flows and analytics. Whether you bring your own webshop or use a realistic case study, each change is followed by measurement, so you can see what works and explain why.

People visit your store. So what keeps them from buying?

A polished webshop does not automatically make a successful one. The real obstacles are often easy to overlook: a product page that answers the wrong question, an unnecessary checkout step or a category customers cannot find. You will learn how to identify these issues, improve them and measure the result — using evidence you understand, rather than relying on guesswork.

Does this sound familiar?

Your business sells online, but it is hard to see where sales are being lost

  • Your webshop attracts visitors, yet revenue is not keeping pace.
  • You open Analytics but are unsure which signals actually matter.
  • You make improvements without knowing whether they had an effect.
  • A competitor ranks above you, and the reason is not immediately clear.

If so, this course will help you turn those uncertainties into practical next steps.

Two common questions

Do I need to have my own webshop?

No. If you already run one, you can use it throughout the course. If you do not, you will receive a practical case with real data, giving you everything you need to learn and practise.

Do I need previous experience?

You do not need a background in marketing or Adobe. We ask for mbo-4 or higher professional and academic ability, along with a willingness to work with numbers. You will be guided through reading analyses and turning them into sound conclusions.

Examination and diploma

Complete the course with a recognised assessment

At the end of the course, you will take a comprehensive examination and present your portfolio. Pass the assessment and you will receive a diploma. If you prefer not to sit the exam, you will receive a certificate of participation instead.

Your final presentation centres on a webshop you have carefully evaluated, the improvements you recommend and the results you measured. It gives you a substantial case to add to your professional portfolio.

Included in the course

  • Live classes taught by practising professionals
  • Feedback on your own webshop or case study
  • Support in building your portfolio
  • Access to the Art Club community

Frequently asked questions

Useful things to know before you decide

How much time should I allow each week?

There is one two-hour evening class, plus three to five hours for independent study and assignments. Because classes take place in the evening, the six-month course is designed to fit alongside work.

Do I need to own a webshop already?

No. If you have one, you can use it for your assignments and observe the results directly. If you do not, we will provide a realistic case study with genuine data, so you can participate fully.

Will I receive a diploma?

Yes. You earn a diploma by completing the comprehensive examination and portfolio presentation. If you decide not to take the exam, you will receive a certificate of participation.

Which tools will I work with?

You will use tools including Google Analytics and Looker Studio, SEO software, a webshop platform of your choice and AI workflows for writing and analysis.

Can I take the entire course online?

Yes. Every class is taught live via Zoom. The course is also available in English.

Could UWV fund this course?

This course is included in our UWV training provision. Your employment adviser or occupational expert will decide whether funding applies in your situation. We provide the programme, study load, start dates and evidence of employment prospects, helping you submit a complete application. You can learn more at Funding through UWV.
